I'm so happy you're here, and I'd love to share a little bit of my story with you. I'm Shannon and have been married to Carlos for over 32 years, we've survived raising 5 kids and have grand babies starting to arrive!

We love coffee on the porch, collecting eggs from our 120+ chickens, being bossed around by our 3 cats, and 3 dogs, and of course any time we can hang with our kids is our favorite!

I started resin work in 2018, the year my husband beat cancer. As a full time caregiver for our 4th child who has special needs, and then caring for my husband, I needed an outlet, but still at home. What started as acrylic paint pouring and a Cricut, morphed into resin, 2 lasers, a home studio with air extraction, and a woodworking tool collection my husband now borrows from! I work in snippets of time while our daughter is in her day program and thoroughly consider my "work" to be my "rest". I am truly blessed beyond belief and give God all the glory for his Grace on my life and blessings I'd never even think to ask for.

The name Joy in the Making is derived from the verse Psalm 30:4-5 "Sing praises to the Lord,... and give thanks to his holy name. For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning." Joy comes in the morning, it is in the making while we rest. When we rest in His hands, He can make our Joy complete.
